The artist 9: FORT

FORT is a Berlin-based artist collective which was founded in 2008, consisting of the three female artists Jenny Kropp (born in 1978 in Frankfurt a.M.), Anna Jandt (born in 1980 in Bremen) and Alberta Niemann (born in 1982 in Bremen). Kropp was awarded the Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff Scholarship, one of the most prestigious art grants in Germany, in 2012.

The artist 8: Sterling Ruby

Sterling Ruby was born in Bitburg, Germany in 1972 and grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and in Pennsylvania. He studied at the Pennsylvania School of Art and Design in Lancaster and graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Art Institute in Chicago in 2001. He works and lives in Los Angeles since 2003.

The artist 7: Hanne Darboven

Hanne Darboven was born in Munich in 1941 and graduated from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg in 1965. She spent two years in New York from 1966 to 1968 and lived in Hamburg until her death in 2009.

Owen Gump was born in 1980 in Kentfield, California. He studied at the University of Washington in Seattle and at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf and graduated from the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (class of peter Piller), Leipzig in 2008. He lives and works in Cologne.

Sven Johne was born in 1976 in Bergen (Rügen Island) and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the HGB Leipzig, class of Prof. Timm Rautert, in 2006. He lives and works in Berlin.

The Artist 4: Dorothy Iannone

Dorothy Iannone was born in 1933 in Boston and graduated in 1958 from Brandeis University with a degree in English Literature. She began her career as an autodidactic painter in 1959 and was strongly influenced by her relationship with the artist Dieter Roth which lasted from 1967 to 1974. She lives and works in Berlin.
